We are pleased to offer an excellent example of immediate post-war British production: a Fazakerley No.5 Mk1 “Jungle Carbine” manufactured in August 1946, in very good overall condition and accompanied by a sling and stripper clip.
Marked “ROF (F) 8/46,” this rifle represents one of the final production batches of this iconic model, built just after the close of World War II. These late examples often benefit from refined manufacturing standards while retaining all the classic features that define the Jungle Carbine: the distinctive cone-shaped flash hider, lightweight beechwood stock, and effective rubber recoil pad.
This carbine remains in very good condition, with matching serial numbers on the receiver and bolt. The metalwork shows a strong, serviceable finish, the bore is very good, and the stock is solid with only minor handling marks. The inclusion of a period sling and stripper clip completes this ready-to-display ensemble.
For the collector, this August 1946 Fazakerley No.5 Mk1 is a great opportunity to own a late-production, matching-number example of this famous and handy Lee-Enfield variant. It’s a solid, historically interesting rifle ready for collection or range use.
